The Mangus 5 Outfitters offer Colorado elk hunting drop camps for hunters who wish to start their hunt first thing in the morning. While others are traveling to the mountain, you and your companions are already there. We pack your group to camps that are only accessible by livestock or foot travel. Our big game elk hunting drop camps are located in units 74 & 75 in Southwest Colorado, near Durango.

The hunting camp is set w/ a 15 X 18 canvas wall tent, complete with cots and a woodstove for comfort on those chilly nights. There is a fire pit and grill for cooking outside when the weather permits. Firewood is cut and stacked. We pack your downed game out of the back country to your vehicle. Time and time again we’ve heard, “Sure Beats Carrying It On Your Back!”
 

You bring your camp gear, groceries, license, rifle and other necessary items to our elk hunting drop camps. And, each hunter is allowed 175 lbs. which equals one pack horse load. Extra pack stock can be leased for an additional fee. Once in camp you will not have to travel to hunt in prime elk country, you will awaken in it. We are fully insured, registered # 2236 and bonded.
