About Our Services for Your Hunt

You will drive to the trailhead, unload your hunting gear and park your vehicle somewhere near.  We will weigh your bags to balance the loads and pack our animals for the ride to your camp.

You will be introduced to your horse and prepared for the trip to the camp.  The ride will be between 1-2 hours on horseback.
Your group will be guided to your hunting camp by a member of the Mangus 5 group.
The hunting party will have an opportunity to see the country around your camp and perhaps even see an Elk or two as you ride to your camp.
When your gear arrives at the camp it will be unloaded so you can organize for your hunt.  This activity will be repeated when your hunt is over and you will be returning to the Trail Head.  Your camp includes a large tent, wood burning stove and sleeping cots.  Outside there is room to cook meals and sit around an evening fire.  Firewood is available for your use.
Every day or two, during your stay, Rollo or another member of the Mangus group will arrive with fresh water and a couple of extra  pack animals in the event you have an Elk down in the back country.  We will then ride you down to your animal and pack it back to the Trail Head.
During your time on the mountain you will be able to spend your time enjoying the Colorado country, hiking, hunting and harvesting the animal you are hunting.
Once your animal is down The Mangus 5 will bring a pack team to the harvest location to pack your meat, hide and head back to the trail head.
